Bert & May opens its doors at Heal’s

The new kid on the block, interior design service Bert & May bring their unique blend of handcrafted finishes, design expertise and moodboads to Heal’s flagship store.
Founded in Spain by Lee Thornley, who moved from London in 2004, Bert & May began life as a reclaimed tile company. The interior design service has since evolved into a specialist supplier of handmade artisan tiles, engineered wood, natural pigment paints, and most recently, furniture, bathroom fittings and kitchens.
Taking up residence in the Heal’s Cabin on the ground floor of Heal’s Tottenham Court Road, Bert & May bring a plethora of samples and swatches, as well as expert staff to advise on projects large and small. Shoppers are encouraged to get creative at their dedicated #BertsBoards moodboard station (shown above), where they can experiment with a cohesive collection of tiles, paints and fabrics to create a whole new interior.
On their recent move to Heal’s, Lee Thornley, Co-Founder and Director of Bert & May, comments “We’re really looking forward to showcasing our collections at this iconic address. The Heal’s name is synonymous with great design from the UK and beyond, and the company has a long heritage of celebrating fine craftsmanship. Given Bert & May’s love of original design and beautiful raw materials, the collaboration is a natural fit.”
The Bert & May design team loves a challenge. Whether you’re planning a room refresh or redesigning an entire property, their expert designers are on hand to help. Don’t worry if you’re just getting started, use your free consultation as a way to get the inspiration flowing. Ahead of your visit, gather together as much information as you can to give their designers a clear idea of your tastes and the project. Come armed with floor plans and magazine cuttings, or simply send them a link to a Pinterest Board of your favourite images, paints and fabrics.
Together you will then create your own #BertsBoards moodboard,  bringing together fabric swatches, materials and paint colours to give you an overview of your scheme. It’s totally bespoke to your project and will help you visualise how Bert & May’s interior style will work in your space. Once you’re happy with the plan, they will provide a detailed shopping list of everything that’s needed to make that dream project a reality.
