When illuminated, its gentle curves, and the material contrast between its glass bulb and solid wood body, creates a bold sculptural effect. The ash used in Woody is sourced from the UK’s furniture industry. By transforming traditionally undervalued offcuts into sculptural lighting, potential waste is saved from landfill or incineration, and instead transformed into a new contemporary form. Going one step further in its ecological responsibility, Woody’s traceable timber is all certified as UK grown, providing clear oversight of how the design has been made and the journey its materials have been on.
