The story behind this product

Robert Welch trained at Malvern school of Art, Birmingham College of Art and the Royal College of Art. His early inspirations included Le Corbusier, Mies van der Rohe and Marcel Breuer, and later Brâncuși and Giacometti. His black cast-iron designs from the 1960s are typical of the more brutal, honest designs of the era also reflected in Brutalist architecture.
Heal’s 100, is a curated exhibition showing the 100 best items sold at Heal’s in the last 100 years. The selection of products is not only based on what the company sells today, but also pieces from Heal’s archive, now held by the V&A museum.
