Product Story
When Ercol founder Lucian Ercolani set out to produce a contemporary range of traditional handmade furniture, he looked to the heritage of craft within the Chiltern Hills and areas surrounding his first factory. The result was a mid-century styled collection inspired by classic Windsor furniture, with pieces such as this modest bar stool now lovingly reproduced as part of the Ercols Originals range.

A feature of this bar stool is the classic Windsor wedge joint, where the leg of the chair goes right through the seat; a wedge is then inserted into a cut in the leg, forming a remarkably strong joint.

Sanded off flush with the seat, the joint then provides a beautiful design element.
