Alexander Girard was one of the leading figures in American design during the post-war era. The designer and architect created a number of concepts for restaurants, including this striking print. Girard was known for collecting textiles and art, as well as matchboxes. His iconic graphic print, inspired by his love for folk art, can be seen on one of his favourite artefacts, complete with 45 long matches.
