Cylinda Line

Stelton was founded in 1960, originally selling budget stainless steel tableware. Things changed dramatically when the founder’s mother re-married, to renowned architect and designer Arne Jacobsen. Her son nagged his stepfather to design something for his company and, as the story goes, Jacobsen eventually yielded and sketched on a paper napkin a design for a teapot he believed would be too difficult to produce. The stelton team were determined, however, and, three years later, it went into production. Over time it has become a design classic and was even featured in a 1980s Star Trek movie as the tea set of choice for the feared Klingons.
Heal’s 100, is a curated exhibition showing the 100 best items sold at Heal’s in the last 100 years. The selection of products is not only based on what the company sells today, but also pieces from Heal’s archive, now held by the V&A museum.
