Its unusual design explores the unintentional beauty of the backstitches that are often found on the reverse side of embroidery. The Backstitch Calm Rug itself is a precious example of premium craftsmanship, with different yarns, detailing done by hand and expert loom work shown throughout. Hand-stitching by female artisans in northern India completes the modern rug and mimics the effect of backstitches.
