"For me, Heal’s is a design institution who have maintained a relevance and it’s been a joy to design for them."
Heal's Collaboration with Magnus Long
Magnus' first collaboration with Heal's takes inspiration from Bauhaus style, a movement that aimed to emphasis function through simplified forms and minimal embellishment. We briefed Magnus to design a generous sofa with contemporary lines, fitting for modern homes, with an emphasis on comfort. The result was Massimo, an elegant sofa with a curvaceous silhouette and an exposed solid walnut or stained ash frame.
Upholstered in new fabrics
Massimo is skilfully upholstered in Brianza, north of Milan, by master upholsters and is available in three different fabric options - Siena-cotton is a brushed cotton which has a slight nap which gives it a beautiful texture; Marylebone Velvet is made from 100% cotton and has a short pile giving it an undeniably soft feel; and the Tundra texture is a cotton blend option which has a marled effect due to the different flecks of colour within the fabric. Massimo is also available in a beautifully soft nubuck leather which has a velvet-like feel.
