The story behind this product

Beehive is a hand forged lamp using both traditional blacksmithing and modern metal forming techniques. The design is a result of Anthony Dickens’ continued exploration in creating contemporary forged metal products with Richard Fishenden of Made by the Forge.

The start of this project began when a large power hammer was acquired for our Suffolk based forge and Anthony wanted to see what would happen when an 8mm square section of metal was hammered as thinly as possible. What resulted was the starting point for exploring several design executions, the first we are calling Beehive in celebration of the natural beeswax finish we give all our steel products.

Made by the Forge are passionate about reducing their impact on the environment and as a result every product is built to last a lifetime and every sale results in a tree planted in Suffolk.Last year over 2000 trees were planted
