Small Armchairs

A small armchair slips into a corner, a snug or a bedroom without crowding the space the way a full-sized lounge chair would. Our small armchair collection covers upholstered tub chairs, mid-century-style occasional chairs and compact accent pieces in fabric, velvet and leather. Scale is carefully engineered to read as proper armchair rather than overgrown dining chair.

Small armchairs typically sit between 65 and 80cm wide overall, significantly narrower than standard 85 to 100cm lounge chairs. Depth ranges from 70 to 85cm, which still accommodates a full seated position. Seat height stays around 40 to 45cm for comfortable rising.

Small armchairs suit bedroom corners, home-office setups, compact snugs and as accent seating in larger rooms. They're ideal where a full lounge chair would dominate but standing or perching seating would feel underequipped. Pairing with a small side table completes the arrangement.

Small doesn't mean compromised if the chair is well engineered; many models use high-resilience foam and proper lumbar support despite the reduced footprint. Longer relaxed lounging may favour a larger chair, but reading and shorter-session use is well served. Check individual product descriptions for comfort details.

A small armchair pairs well with a standard sofa, adding an alternative seating position without demanding the scale of a full matching armchair. Contrasting upholstery between sofa and small chair can read more intentional than identical fabrics. Position it slightly off-axis to the sofa for conversational balance.
