Porada

Porada is a third-generation Italian furniture house based in Cabiate, Lombardy, producing solid-wood dining tables, beds, chairs and occasional furniture from a family-run workshop. The collection centres on canaletto walnut and brushed oak, with hand-finished joinery and the kind of proportions that sit as comfortably in a country farmhouse as in a modern city apartment.

Porada is an Italian family-owned furniture house, with production based in Cabiate in the Brianza region of Lombardy. The workshop has operated since 1948 across three generations, specialising in solid-wood furniture with an emphasis on sculptural form and traditional joinery rather than veneered or flat-pack construction.

Porada works primarily in canaletto walnut and brushed oak, both solid-wood species rather than veneered panels. Canaletto walnut is prized for its dark figure and takes a natural oil finish beautifully; oak is lighter and often brushed to raise the grain before finishing. Both woods age slowly and handsomely across decades of use.

Porada operates a mix of stock and made-to-order, with many collection pieces available from warehouse stock in 2 to 4 weeks, and bespoke finishes or custom sizes running to 10 to 14 weeks. Each product page shows current lead times, which Heal's confirms at order stage.

Porada's design language sits at the intersection of traditional Italian craft and modernist sculpture, with forms often inspired by maritime shapes, curved joinery, and the careful contrast between soft curves and crisp edges. The designer roster includes Italian architects and international collaborators, giving each collection a distinctive voice within a coherent brand identity.
