Serveware fills the gap between everyday dinnerware and the plated meal at the table, in the form of platters, serving bowls, tureens and boards that carry food from kitchen to diners. Our collection spans hand-turned wooden boards, Portuguese stoneware platters, marble serving slabs, and porcelain tureens, each chosen to earn a place in the cupboard through frequent use.

    The core serveware kit covers two large platters (one round, one oval), two serving bowls (one 30cm for salads, one deeper 25cm for sides), a wooden board for cheese and charcuterie, and a pouring jug for sauces. These five pieces handle most dinner party situations, with additions like soup tureens and trifle bowls sitting in the occasion-use category.

    Porcelain and stoneware serveware is mostly dishwasher-safe with the specific manufacturer's guidance. Wooden boards and marble pieces must be handwashed, as both are damaged permanently by dishwasher heat and detergent. Check each product page for specific care notes, particularly for pieces with metallic rims or hand-painted detail.

    A platter is a flat or shallow piece for foods that hold their shape, like sliced meats, fish and roasted vegetables. A serving bowl has depth for foods that need containment, like salads, pastas and stews. Most full dinner services include one of each size in both formats, covering the range of dishes typical at a dinner party.

    Matching serveware exactly to the dinner set reads a little formal, so many considered tables use a contrast: white porcelain dinnerware with terracotta stoneware serveware, or a coloured dinner service with plain serving pieces. Share one shared tone or element between the two, rather than matching the full set.
