    GAN is the handcrafted textiles division of Spanish design house Gandia Blasco, established to produce rugs, poufs and accessories that pair traditional craft techniques with contemporary design. Collections are produced in Spain and India, often using hand-weaving, hand-knotting and hand-tufted methods. The brand is known for sustainability and fair-trade practices.

    GAN collaborates with a rotating roster of international designers, including Patricia Urquiola, Sandra Figuerola, Catherine Aitken and Neri&Hu. Urquiola's Mangas and Mosaiek collections are among the best known, blending abstract pattern with sculptural volume. New collections are released annually.

    Hand-knotted and hand-tufted GAN rugs are durable enough for living rooms and dining spaces, provided they are vacuumed regularly and rotated every six months. Wool and wool-blend constructions cope particularly well with daily footfall. For very high traffic, look at the flatweave options in the range.

    Vacuum GAN rugs weekly on a low setting, avoiding beater brushes that can pull fibres. Blot spills immediately with a clean cloth and mild water, working from the outside in.
