Duvets

A well-chosen duvet shapes how well you sleep more than almost any other bedroom piece. Our collection spans natural down and feather, wool and cotton fillings, each graded by tog for year-round comfort. Paired with our pillows in matching weights, the combination takes bedding beyond the sheet set and into proper sleep quality.

A 4.5 tog duvet suits warm summer nights and hotter-sleeping homes, while a 10.5 tog is the year-round workhorse for most UK bedrooms. For a cold room in winter, a 13.5 or 15 tog provides genuine warmth, or pair a 4.5 with a 9 tog on press-studs for a four-season combination that dismantles as the weather warms.

Down is the lightest and warmest per gram, with Hungarian goose down at the luxury end. Feather blends add weight and structure at lower price points. Synthetic fillings, particularly hollowfibre and microfibre, offer hypoallergenic performance for households with asthma or allergies, washing in a domestic machine where down typically can't.

A natural-fill duvet lasts 10 to 15 years with good care, while a synthetic duvet should be replaced every 5 to 7 years as the fibres lose loft and warmth. Signs it's time to replace: visible clumping, reduced warmth despite the same tog rating, or a lingering scent that doesn't wash out.

Most synthetic duvets wash comfortably in a 7kg or larger domestic machine, while natural-fill duvets usually need a laundrette's industrial drum or a professional clean once or twice a year. Airing duvets outdoors on a dry day between washes refreshes the filling and extends the time between deeper cleans.
