Woolroom is a British bedding brand specialising in pure-wool duvets, pillows and mattresses, with a Rutland workshop producing bedding filled with traceable British wool from farms across the UK.     Wool regulates temperature more actively than down, drawing moisture away from the sleeper and maintaining a consistent body temperature across the night. It's also naturally hypoallergenic, making wool duvets a good choice for sleepers who react to down or dust mites. The tradeoff is slightly more weight for the same warmth, which most sleepers find comforting rather than heavy.

    Woolroom sources its wool from British farms through a traceable supply chain, supporting UK sheep farmers and reducing the transport footprint of the finished bedding. Specific fleeces are matched to product use: finer wools for summer duvets, longer-staple wools for winter pillows. The sourcing detail appears on each product page.

    Most Woolroom duvets and pillows are machine-washable on a wool or delicate cycle at 30 degrees, with a specific wool detergent rather than standard biological. Tumble-drying on a low heat fluffs the filling back up. The care process is more involved than standard synthetic bedding, but the lifespan of wool bedding (10 to 15 years) far exceeds synthetic alternatives.

    Wool mattresses offer a consistent, supportive surface with natural temperature regulation, which some sleepers with back pain find preferable to memory foam or pocket-sprung builds that run warm. Individual responses vary, so if the mattress is being considered specifically for back pain relief, a trial period is worth prioritising in the purchase.
