Fermob

Fermob has been making French outdoor furniture since 1989, producing powder-coated steel café chairs, bistro tables and lounge pieces in a 24-colour palette that changes subtly every season. Every piece is built in Thoissey, France, using European steel and a 10-stage powder-coat process designed to resist UV and coastal exposure.

Fermob's most recognised piece is the Bistro folding chair, a powder-coated steel café classic that has been in production since 1889. The brand's broader range now covers bistro, Luxembourg, Costa and Dune collections across dining, lounge and conversational outdoor seating.

Every piece is manufactured at Fermob's factory in Thoissey, Burgundy, using European steel and an in-house 10-stage powder-coat process. Production has never been offshored, which is a deliberate part of the brand's positioning.

The powder-coat system is engineered specifically for outdoor use and carries a five-year guarantee against rust and UV fading. For coastal homes, rinsing the frames with fresh water occasionally helps manage salt exposure.

Fermob publishes 24 colours each year, with around five updated annually so the palette stays fresh without locking customers out of long-term replacements. Any colour introduced in the last three years is still available for spot-matched repairs.
