Bedside Tables

Bedside tables do more than hold a lamp and a book: they set the bed's proportions and carry the small practicalities of nightly rituals. Our collection spans slim mid-century Scandi forms, drawered solid-oak classics and architectural marble-topped pieces, each sized to sit neatly beside a divan or a framed bed.

A bedside table works best when the top sits 5 to 10cm above mattress height, so reaching for a lamp or glass doesn't mean lifting the hand too far. For a standard divan with a mattress at 55cm, that's a bedside around 60 to 65cm; for a low platform bed, a 45cm bedside is the matching pair.

A 40 to 50cm wide bedside suits most bedrooms, holding a lamp, a water carafe, a book and a phone without crowding. Larger bedsides at 60cm and above work in more generous rooms or when the table doubles as bedroom storage, while narrow 30cm bedsides suit box rooms where wall space is at a premium.

Matching bedsides give the bedroom a finished, considered feel that couples tend to reach for. Mismatched but complementary bedsides, such as two different pieces that share a timber tone and height, work beautifully in more layered interiors and sidestep the feeling of a furniture-shop bedroom.

Drawered bedsides hide the chargers, reading glasses, and paperback piles that accumulate beside a bed, keeping the surface calm for a lamp and a book. Open-shelf bedsides display well-kept collections of books or small objects and suit tidier sleepers, with the shelf itself becoming part of the bedroom's composition.
