As the name suggests, Sten is a decorative shelf made entirely of stone. The design is unique in its simplicity, consisting of a single stone slab resting on two rounded shelf brackets, also crafted of stone. Designer Simon Legald explains, "Normally, you would expect a shelf to consist of brackets and a board of sorts. Here, the aim was to create a single unit where the brackets became part of the aesthetic experience rather than a purely practical, structural element." Sten is both functional and sculptural, serving as an artistic element on the walls, while also providing a practical storage solution for books, vases, or still life arrangements.
