The story behind this product

Designed by Matthew Hilton for De La Espada, the 361 Ibstone Windsor Chair boasts sophisticated frame with a combination of ash and walnut woods. By using contrasting woods, the chair’s Danish ash wood legs highlight the expert joinery where they meet the oiled walnut seat. The Ibstone Chair is inspired by the traditional Windsor Chair and named after the neighbouring village of the Buckinghamshire town it originated in.

Meet the designer

Matthew Hilton

Designing for leading furniture makers such as Case, De La Espada and SCP, many of Hilton's designs are considered icons with pieces such as his Balzac Chair held in the permanent collection of the Victoria & Albert Museum.

Working in premium materials such as solid wood, cast iron, and brass, in 2007 Hilton launched his eponymous brand as a place where he could have complete creative control.
