Saba Italia designs and manufactures in Italy, in workshops in the Padua region. Italian production sits at the heart of the brand's identity, combining local upholstery craft with contemporary design, and it is reflected in both the finish and the price positioning.

Many Saba ranges are modular, built from elements that combine into corner, island and modular layouts to suit a specific room. This flexibility is a large part of the appeal, letting a sofa be configured now and reconfigured later. Individual seat and element options are listed per range.

As made-to-order Italian upholstery, Saba pieces are typically built to your chosen configuration and fabric, so lead times run to several weeks. The current estimate is confirmed at the point of order, and bespoke options can extend it.

Saba has invested in more sustainable materials and construction across parts of its range, including recycled and recyclable components. As with any furniture, the most sustainable choice is a well-made piece kept for decades, which the brand's construction quality supports.

The Edit From sculptural statement pieces to innovative interpretations of classic designs, discover our selection of unusual floor lamps that bring character, craftsmanship and considered illumination to the home. Sculptural Floor Lamps That Work as Objects More than simply a source of light, these sculptural floor lamps blur the boundaries between functional lighting and decorative art. With expressive silhouettes and unexpected forms, each design brings a distinctive presence to a room, whether illuminated or not. Melt LED Cone Fat Floor Lamp Designed by Tom Dixon in collaboration with Swedish design collective FRONT, the Melt LED Cone Fat Floor Lamp takes inspiration from the mesmerising appearance of molten glass. Its distorted, reflective shade creates an almost liquid-like effect, transforming from a mirrored surface into a glowing orb when illuminated. A striking addition to contemporary interiors, Melt brings a sense of movement and drama to a living room, creating an atmospheric focal point even when switched off. Bolha Floor Lamp Playful yet sophisticated, the Bolha Floor Lamp brings an unexpected sculptural quality to everyday lighting. Exclusive to Heal's, its distinctive form makes a statement without overwhelming its surroundings, balancing expressive design with a contemporary aesthetic. Perfect for introducing character to an understated living room, Bolha works particularly well beside a low-profile sofa or as a decorative feature in an otherwise empty corner. Flowerpot VP12 Floor Lamp Originally designed by Verner Panton in 1968, the Flowerpot collection captures the playful spirit of mid-century design. The Flowerpot VP12 Floor Lamp brings its iconic rounded shades to a beautifully balanced standing silhouette, combining bold geometry with soft, inviting illumination. Its distinctive proportions make it a natural choice for adding colour and character to a living room, while its timeless appeal allows it to sit comfortably alongside both contemporary and vintage-inspired furniture. Unusual Floor Lamps for the Living Room A carefully chosen floor lamp can transform the atmosphere of a living room, bringing balance to a seating arrangement or creating an unexpected focal point. From oversized design classics to elegant directional lighting, these distinctive pieces combine visual impact with everyday practicality. Gravity XL Floor Lamp Designed by Space Copenhagen for Gubi, the Gravity XL Floor Lamp combines generous proportions with beautifully contrasting materials. Its substantial base anchors a softly diffusing fabric shade, creating a harmonious balance between sculptural form and gentle illumination. The understated silhouette makes it particularly effective beside a generously proportioned sofa, where its scale adds presence without overwhelming the room. Ideal for creating a relaxed atmosphere, Gravity brings a sense of quiet sophistication to contemporary living spaces. Arco Floor Light An icon of Italian design, the Arco Floor Light was created by Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni for Flos in 1962. Its sweeping stainless steel arch extends from a substantial marble base, allowing light to be positioned overhead without the need for a ceiling fitting. Both architectural and practical, Arco makes a striking addition to open-plan living spaces, where its dramatic silhouette can extend over a sofa or seating area. A timeless example of form meeting function, it remains as relevant today as when it was first conceived. Gräshoppa Floor Lamp Designed by Greta M. Grossman in 1947, the Gräshoppa Floor Lamp is celebrated for its slender, angled silhouette and distinctive conical shade. Its playful proportions bring a subtle mid-century influence to modern interiors, while the directional light makes it particularly well suited to reading corners. Position Gräshoppa beside an armchair or sofa to create an inviting space to unwind. With its visually light frame and understated elegance, it's an ideal choice for smaller living rooms where space is at a premium. Handmade and Unexpected Materials Sometimes it's the material rather than the silhouette that makes a floor lamp truly distinctive. From traditional Japanese paper-making to the natural warmth of timber and terracotta, these designs celebrate craftsmanship and the beauty of unconventional materials. Akari 9A Floor Lamp Created by Japanese-American artist and designer Isamu Noguchi, the Akari Light Sculptures celebrate the beauty of traditional craftsmanship. Handmade from delicate washi paper and supported by a lightweight framework, the Akari 9A Floor Lamp has an organic, almost weightless appearance. When illuminated, its paper shade diffuses light into a soft, welcoming glow, creating a calming atmosphere. Its sculptural silhouette makes it a beautiful addition to relaxed living rooms and bedrooms, particularly alongside natural materials and understated furnishings. Keel Stem Floor Lamp The Keel Stem Floor Lamp brings a contemporary, sculptural quality to the home, combining an elegant silhouette with a considered approach to materials. Its distinctive form makes it an eye-catching addition to a living room, while its understated aesthetic allows it to complement a variety of interior styles. Positioned beside a sofa or favourite armchair, Keel introduces a refined design statement without overwhelming the surrounding space. 9602 ‘Chinese Hat’ Floor Lamp Originally designed by Finnish designer Paavo Tynell in 1938, the 9602 Floor Lamp is affectionately known as the Chinese Hat, a reference to its distinctive, generously proportioned shade. Combining an elegant, slender stem with thoughtful decorative detailing, the design reflects Tynell's ability to balance functionality with timeless beauty. Its softly diffused illumination makes it an inviting addition beside a sofa or lounge chair, while its unusual silhouette brings a refined, characterful presence to both contemporary and traditional interiors.

Behind the Design: The Enduring Craftsmanship of Artisan
There’s something unmistakable about furniture made from solid wood. From the natural variation of the grain to the warmth it brings to a room, it’s a material that only becomes more characterful with time. Few brands understand its potential quite like Artisan. Rooted in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Artisan combines generations of woodworking knowledge with a distinctly contemporary approach to furniture design. The result is a collection of beautifully crafted tables, chairs and occasional pieces where the material is always allowed to take centre stage. From woodworking workshop to contemporary design house Artisan’s story begins with the traditional Ćostović woodworking workshop and more than 50 years of experience working with timber. What began as a local workshop has evolved into an internationally recognised furniture brand, but an appreciation for traditional woodworking remains at the heart of everything it creates. Rather than concealing the qualities of its materials, Artisan celebrates them. Solid timbers including oak and walnut are shaped, joined and finished to highlight their individual grain and character, ensuring the material itself becomes an integral part of each design. It’s an approach that gives Artisan furniture its distinctive balance: contemporary without feeling trend-led, and meticulously considered without losing the warmth and tactility of something made by hand. A softer side to solid wood Artisan’s ability to transform solid timber into seemingly fluid forms is perhaps one of the most recognisable characteristics of its furniture. Nowhere is this more evident than in the Neva collection. Sculpted from solid wood, the Neva Dining Chair features a beautifully curved back that flows seamlessly into its slender frame. Every edge has been softened and refined, showcasing the precision of Artisan's woodworking while creating an inviting place to sit. For an even lighter expression of the design, the Neva Light Chair strips the silhouette back further. Its graceful curves and tactile timber make it equally suited to gathering around a dining table or standing alone as an accent chair. Both designs demonstrate what Artisan does particularly well: allowing craftsmanship to be seen and felt without overwhelming the simplicity of the finished piece. Designed around the beauty of timber While Artisan's chairs demonstrate the precision possible with solid wood, its tables allow the natural character of the material to unfold on a much larger scale. The Latus Dining Table is a striking example. Generous expanses of solid timber are balanced by beautifully considered proportions and softened detailing, allowing the grain to become part of the table's visual identity. Available at Heal's in European walnut and white oiled oak, its pared-back silhouette lets each timber bring a different character to the design. Made for the way we live Beautiful craftsmanship doesn't have to come at the expense of practicality. Artisan's collaboration with German designer Michael Schneider on the Tara collection brings the brand's woodworking expertise to furniture designed around contemporary life. The Tara Extending Dining Table combines a clean, architectural silhouette with the flexibility to accommodate larger gatherings. Its extending design makes it an especially considered choice for homes where the dining table needs to adapt - from everyday breakfasts and working from home to evenings spent entertaining. Pair it with the Tara Dining Chair, whose gently shaped timber frame continues the collection's refined aesthetic. Together, the designs create a dining setting that feels warm and considered without becoming overly formal. Craftsmanship beyond the dining room Artisan's approach to wood extends well beyond dining furniture, with pieces designed to bring the same material richness to different areas of the home. The Picard Desk turns the home workspace into a celebration of craftsmanship. Made in solid wood and available at Heal's in European walnut and white oiled oak, its refined form allows the beauty of the timber to provide the decoration. For something smaller, the Bloop Side Table shows how expressive solid wood can be even at a more compact scale. Sculptural and full of character, its playful proportions offer a contemporary contrast to the more restrained forms found elsewhere in the collection. The Mars Coffee Table provides another way to introduce Artisan's craftsmanship into a living space. Crafted in European walnut, its rich timber grain brings natural warmth to the room while maintaining the quiet simplicity that runs throughout Artisan's work. Furniture that gets better with age Part of the enduring appeal of solid wood is that it doesn't need to remain untouched to stay beautiful. Over time, the surface develops character, recording the everyday moments that happen around it. This sense of longevity feels particularly relevant to Artisan. Its furniture isn't designed around fleeting trends or quick transformations. Instead, the focus is on considered proportions, natural materials and skilled construction - qualities that allow a piece to remain relevant as the home around it changes. It's a philosophy that sits naturally alongside our own belief at Heal's that good design should be lived with and loved for years to come. Discover Artisan at Heal's From the sweeping curves of the Neva collection to the sculptural simplicity of Latus and the adaptable design of Tara, every Artisan piece begins with an appreciation for one extraordinary material: wood. Future Icons: The Designs That Could Define Tomorrow
For more than two centuries, Heal’s has championed design that looks beyond the moment. From pioneering modernist furniture to the designers shaping contemporary interiors today, our history has always been rooted in discovering what comes next.  But what makes a design an icon? Some pieces become icons because they change the way we live. Others challenge convention, introduce new materials or manufacturing techniques, or simply possess a quality that allows them to remain relevant long after trends have passed. The Eames Lounge Chair is one such example. Designed by Charles and Ray Eames in 1956, it has become one of the most recognisable pieces of modern design, its combination of craftsmanship, comfort and distinctive form making it as relevant today as it was when first introduced.  This London Design Festival, we’re looking towards the future with a selection of pieces that embody the qualities we believe can define tomorrow’s design classics. From emerging talent discovered through the Heal’s Discovers programme to exclusive designs created with established names, these are pieces designed not simply for today, but with longevity in mind.    The Fisher Desk – Michiel Vrenegoor  Discovered through Heal’s Discovers, the Fisher Desk by Michiel Vrenegoor brings a considered architectural quality to the modern workspace. Its oak A-frame, generous surface and integrated storage are rooted in traditional making techniques, while its clean, sculptural form responds to the evolving role of the home office.  It is a piece that demonstrates how good design can adapt to changing ways of living without compromising on simplicity or character.     The Matera Sofa – Heal’s Design Studio  The Matera Sofa draws on the enduring language of contemporary Italian design, with elegant proportions, subtle curves and hand-sewn pleated detailing. Named after the southern Italian town where it is made, its design is understated yet distinctive.  Created with longevity in mind, Matera demonstrates that a future classic does not need to follow a trend. Sometimes, it is the quiet confidence of good proportions, considered craftsmanship and enduring materials that gives a piece its staying power.    The Arch Console – Magnus Pettersen  With its sculptural silhouette and distinctive curved legs, the Arch Console by Magnus Pettersen shows how simplicity can create a lasting impression.  Available in solid oak or walnut, its architectural form gives the piece a strong visual identity while allowing it to sit naturally within a range of interiors. It is an example of design that makes a statement without relying on excess, allowing the quality of its materials and construction to speak for itself.    The Neva Light Chair – Regular Company for Artisan  The Neva Light Chair by Regular Company for Artisan takes a simple idea and gives it an expressive new form. Its flowing backrest transitions seamlessly into the legs, creating a distinctive silhouette that feels both sculptural and remarkably light.  Crafted from solid wood, the chair reflects Artisan’s commitment to traditional craftsmanship while demonstrating how familiar forms can be reinterpreted for contemporary living. It is this balance between heritage and innovation that gives the Neva the qualities of a potential future classic.      The Supernova Pendant – Heal’s Design Studio  Inspired by the explosive beauty of a supernova, the Supernova Pendant turns lighting into a sculptural centrepiece. A constellation of connected LED lights creates a sense of movement and depth, bringing a sense of wonder to an otherwise functional object.  Its design looks firmly towards the future, demonstrating how technology can be used not simply to improve function, but to create an entirely new visual language for the home.    The Offset Rug – Heal’s Design Studio  The Offset Rug brings a contemporary perspective to traditional weaving. Its bold geometric pattern is created through jacquard construction, giving the design depth and texture while 95% wool provides a natural sense of warmth and durability.  Rather than following a fleeting pattern, Offset explores how geometry, material and craftsmanship can work together to create something with lasting character.      The Melt Light – Tom Dixon  Some designs become recognisable simply by their silhouette. Tom Dixon’s Melt Light is one of them.  Inspired by molten glass, melting glaciers and deep space, its organic form creates an almost otherworldly glow. The innovative manufacturing process gives the light its distinctive, fluid appearance, blurring the boundaries between lighting, sculpture and art.  Now recognised as a defining piece of contemporary lighting, Melt offers a glimpse of how the designs of today can become the classics of tomorrow.      The Verona Sideboard – Nathan Yong  Designed by award-winning designer Nathan Yong exclusively for Heal’s, the Verona Sideboard takes inspiration from the architectural lines of 1960s stereo consoles and reinterprets them for contemporary living.  Its slatted front creates a distinctive rhythm while generous storage gives the design a practical purpose. It is this combination of heritage, innovation and functionality that makes Verona particularly relevant to the idea of the future icon: a piece that looks to the past without being defined by it.      The Lilli Sofa – Says Who  Designed exclusively for Heal’s by Danish studio Says Who, the Lilli Sofa reflects a contemporary understanding of comfort. Its softly rounded form, subtle pull-in stitching and natural beech feet give it a relaxed yet considered character.  Its modular construction is equally important. Designed to adapt as lifestyles change, Lilli demonstrates that longevity is not simply about how a piece looks, but how successfully it continues to serve us over time.      The Marlow 4-Poster Bed – Tim Rundle  The traditional four-poster bed is an enduring piece of furniture, but Tim Rundle’s Marlow offers a distinctly contemporary interpretation.  Designed exclusively for Heal’s, its slim frame, refined proportions and minimal aesthetic retain the sense of occasion associated with the traditional four-poster while removing unnecessary ornamentation. The result is a piece that feels rooted in history but unmistakably of its time.  A future classic is often a familiar idea seen differently. Marlow is a case in point.    So, what makes a future icon?  There is no formula for creating an icon. The pieces that endure are often those that combine several qualities: a distinctive point of view, exceptional craftsmanship, thoughtful materials and a genuine understanding of how people live.  Most importantly, they have the ability to move beyond the moment in which they were created.  The Eames Lounge Chair could not have predicted the homes, lifestyles or technologies of the decades that followed it. Yet its fundamental qualities have allowed it to remain relevant across generations.  Perhaps that is the real measure of an icon.  Not whether it is fashionable today, but whether we will still want to live with it tomorrow.  This London Design Festival, Heal’s is celebrating the designers and pieces that have the potential to shape that future.   Future icons will be on display at Heal’s Tottenham Court Road from Saturday, 12 September until Sunday, 20 September. Discover the exhibition in-store throughout London Design Festival.
