    Hallways (where a round mirror counterbalances the vertical lines of a corridor), bathrooms above a vanity, above bedside tables in pairs, and above mantels or sideboards as a focal point. The round format is particularly effective at softening rectangular rooms and architectural features.

    Aim for a diameter that's around 50-65% of the console width – a 100cm console suits a 50-65cm round mirror. Centre on the console rather than the wall (these are usually different points). Mount with the centre of the mirror at around 1.5m-1.6m from the floor for an average user.

    The format has had a strong moment over the past decade, but round mirrors have been used in homes for centuries (Georgian convex mirrors, Art Deco circular pieces, mid-century round designs). The current resurgence sits within a long tradition rather than as a flash trend; the format has proven longevity. Choose the frame style for longevity rather than the round format itself.

    Yes – pairs of round mirrors flanking a fireplace, hung above twin bedside tables, or staggered along a hallway can be very effective. Aim for matching pieces (same diameter, same frame finish) for a deliberate read; mismatched pairs feel like an oversight rather than a design choice. If there are more stubborn marks, start off by tackling them using a cotton pad and some rubbing alcohol. Next, use your glass cleaner of choice and a microfiber cloth to clean the mirror, moving from top to bottom.
