    The season leans into warm earth tones, hand-worked ceramics and layered tactile textures including boucle, corduroy and heavy linen. Metallic accents have shifted warmer, with more brass and bronze alongside the brushed chrome of recent seasons. Smaller statement objects read better than highly coordinated matched sets.

    A considered set of new accessories can transform a room without changing any major furniture, typically through updated cushions, a new throw, a couple of vases and a fresh candle or two. Keeping a consistent accent colour across the new pieces prevents the update looking piecemeal. Three to five well-chosen items usually suffice.

Modern storage Arik Levy designed this modern interpretation of a toolbox for Vitra in 2010. Vitra accessories for the kids The iconic Eames Elephant almost didn’t make it to our homes. It was an early creation that stemmed from Charles and Ray Eames’ experiments with plywood. In fact, an original prototype designed for a 14-year-old Lucia Eames remains in the possession of the Eames family today. His designs stemmed from an analysis of how people read clocks and the conclusion that numbers are unnecessary. The collection is incredibly varied, with wall clocks, built-in clocks and portable table clocks taking centre stage in the Vitra accessories collection. Their bold shapes and unique approach to colour offer a refreshing alternative to more traditional clocks. Storage statements Husband and wife design duo Charles and Ray Eames designed the Hang It All Coat Hook to encourage children to tidy up. The colourful balls that make the design so distinctive offer a playful alternative to traditional hooks. In 2012, Vitra released three new colourways to coincide with what would have been Ray Eames’ 100th birthday. Vitra collaborated with the Eames Office to select the red, green and white colour palettes. Vitra accessories with a design twist Created by design duo Raw-Edges, these Herringbone Cushions are a newer addition to the Vitra accessories collection. The cushions were originally designed for the VitraHaus in Weil am Rhein. When the Vitra team saw how much everyone loved them, they decided to add them to their collection. A technique called immersion dying inspired the cushion's motif. This involves dipping fabric into a dye bath at various intervals to create a striking ombré effect.
