    Nature's Collection sources pelts from free-range sheep across Scandinavia, with additional supply from the UK and Ireland. The brand prioritises welfare-certified farming and publishes its sourcing criteria openly. Each pelt is finished in Denmark, which controls the tanning and grading process that determines the final softness.

    Icelandic sheepskins have longer, silkier outer wool with a soft undercoat, producing the traditional 'shaggy' sheepskin look suited to throws and chair covers. Gotland sheepskins are shorter-wooled with a tighter curl, giving a denser, more uniform pile. Both are naturally undyed and sit in grey, white or black tones depending on the breed.

    Most quality sheepskin throws need professional cleaning rather than machine-washing, as the tanning process is damaged by standard detergents and tumble-drying. Spot-cleaning with a damp cloth addresses small marks, and an annual professional clean keeps the throw in good condition for decades. The specialist care is reflected in the lifespan.

    Nature's Collection produces baby-grade sheepskins with specific certification and a particularly soft finish, sold separately from the main throw range. Standard throws are not tested for cot use and should stay on adult chairs and sofas. Always check the product page for baby-specific certification before using a sheepskin in a nursery.
