Mustard Made makes steel lockers and storage in powder-coated palettes that break the industrial mould, soft pinks, olives, slates and mustards alongside the more usual black and white. The pieces are built from recyclable steel in Vietnam, finished in the brand's signature colourway lineup.

    The lockers use recyclable cold-rolled steel with powder-coat finishes, giving a hard-wearing surface that resists chipping and fading. Hinges, shelves and legs are reinforced for frequent use, and spare keys are included with every piece.

    They suit hallways, home offices, utility spaces and children's rooms, where durable storage benefits from a softer colour palette. The smaller Skinny and Midi designs fit tight corners; the larger Twinny is a full wardrobe alternative.

    The powder coat is factory-applied and not designed to be repainted at home; the finish is the product. The palette is intentionally broad, over fifteen colours, so most rooms will find a workable match without customisation.

    The lockers arrive fully assembled, so no construction is required. They are heavier than flat-pack storage, and a two-person lift is recommended for the Twinny and Double Twinny sizes.

      In The Studio: Made by The Forge
      The brains and brawn behind our exclusive industrial lighting collection, Made By The Forge combine modern, industrial style with the traditional craft of blacksmithing. Curious to learn more, we spoke to blacksmith Richard Fishenden about the ancient crafts and skills that go into each piece. Where is your workshop based? Made by the Forge is based in the small Suffolk village of Elmsett. We rent our space from a farmer who decided to turn his former pig farm into workshops and studios, so it certainly has that traditional craft feel. How did the collaboration with Anthony Dickens come about? Our relationship sprang from a special collaboration for Made by The Forge between Anthony, William Warren, Chris Eckersley and Gareth Neal, which was exhibited at last year’s Design Junction. We loved his work, so it was a no-brainer to collaborate on a full collection with him. How long did the collection take to design and craft? From the initial concept to the finished pieces, the collection for Heal’s took roughly seven months to complete. While the range is based on Anthony’s clever interpretation of the popular cage light, it was Richard Fishenden’s blacksmithing skills that really brought the designs to life. Where does MBTF’s blacksmithing heritage hail from? Richard comes from a family of Blacksmiths whose time-honoured skills have been passed down through the generations. Having first trained as a farrier, shoeing horses on an apprenticeship, he now has over 20 years’ experience working with solid iron combining his artisan blacksmith skills with a modern approach to interiors. Tell us more about your exclusive designs for Heal’s These designs are all part of The Farrier's Cage Collection, each of which has been traditionally hammered and welded from solid iron to create a modern, industrially inspired series of pendants. It’s hard to choose a favourite with designs including the Multi-Bulb, Long bar and six circle Globe Chandelier, but we have to admit that the Teardrop really does steal the show. What next for MBTF? Following the success of the Farrier’s Cage collection, we are once again working with Anthony Dickens on some exciting new modern lighting designs. We are also planning a collaboration with Sebastian Cox and Anthony to design a table that combines both natural wood and our solid metal crafts.       Made In London: The Heal's Modern Craft Market Returns!
      Now in its fourth year, the Heal's Modern Craft Market is back and this time round we're focusing on the city where it all began. Running from the 10th April to 7th May, at our Tottenham Court Road store, Made in London will champion the very best in the capital's new and emerging design talent by focusing on the small-scale designers and makers who live and work in the great metropolis. London is an extraordinary creative and cultural hub that is very dear to our hearts having been place where Heal's first store was opened all the way back in 1810. This unique season of events will provide a platform for new designers plus a showcase for the exceptional products that are not just being designed in the capital but are made there too. The exhibitor list reflects the proud diversity of the city with everything from ceramics, gin-making, weaving, glassblowing, textiles to artisan soaps all in the mix. Like all Heal's events, we want you to get involved and will have a number of the designers and makers in store to provide live demonstrations, hands-on workshops and discuss the skills that go into the pieces on display. Jode Pankhurst Ceramics in the City, E8, E2, SE15 Jode Pankhurst, Amanda-Sue Rope, Sara Jeffries and Milo Made Ceramics will be on hand to show visitors the exceptional craftsmanship that goes into creating their beautiful and unusual pieces. Goldfinger Factory Goldfinger Factory, W10 Members of the team will be demonstrating their unique approach to design and craft and showing off their skills in bespoke furniture, interiors and jewellery. London Cloth Company London Cloth Company, E5 If you’ve always wondered how beautiful woven cloth is created, you’ll get the answers from the London Cloth Company. The first micro-mill to open in London, they will demonstrate the process on a restored shuttle loom from the 1800s. London Terrariums London Terrariums, SE15 Learn all about botanicals and how to garden under glass by attending one of London Terrariums much-loved workshops. Michael Ruh Michael Ruh, SE27 Glass-blowing is extraordinary to watch and Michael Ruh is a master of the art. Meet Michael and learn how he creates his stunning hand-crafted pieces. Rachael South Rachael South, E8 Talented furniture restorer and maker Rachael will be demonstrating her caning and weaving skills, many of which were picked up working with craftspeople in India, Central America and Europe. Shoreditch Design Rooms Shoreditch Design Rooms, E2 The talented people behind Shoreditch Design Rooms will be showcasing their eye-catching furniture and hosting a series of upholstery demonstrations. There will also be a series of workshops where you will be able to learn upholstery techniques from the makers themselves. Sipsmith Gin Sipsmith Gin, W4 Shopping can be thirsty work, which is why Sipsmith Gin will be on hand serving up their delicious London Dry Gin. Soapsmith Soapsmith, E17 Meet the producers of these delicious artisan soaps and lotions, which nourish the skin and rouse the senses.
