Start with the table linen (or a runner on a bare timber table), then layer chargers, dinner plates and side plates to build visual depth. Add glassware, cutlery and napkins before introducing decorative elements like candles, foliage and small ornaments. The layering should read as considered abundance, not clutter.

Sets that match exactly can feel hotel-formal; mixing related pieces (similar colour palette, similar scale) reads warmer and more personal. Keeping one element consistent across the setting, such as the glassware or charger plates, provides cohesion. Collected tableware accumulates character over years.

Many pieces from the Christmas range work well beyond the season, particularly those in classic golds, deep reds and muted greens. More overtly festive designs (snowflakes, gingerbread motifs) are usually stored between years. The everyday-to-Christmas ratio is worth considering before building the collection.

Most contemporary Christmas tableware is dishwasher safe, though pieces with gold or silver lustre decoration should be hand-washed to preserve the metallic finish. Product pages list specific care requirements. Hand-washing also protects delicate rim painting that may fade over many dishwasher cycles.
