LSA International has been hand-blowing glass since 1967, with every piece shaped by a team of European master glassblowers. The collections run from champagne flutes and decanters to sculptural vases and lanterns, each finished with subtle variations that mark them as mouth-blown.

    Each piece is shaped on the end of a blowing iron by a skilled glassblower rather than pressed in a mould, which gives LSA's glass its characteristic lightness and variation. Small differences in thickness or finish are signs of the handmade process.

    Hand-washing in warm soapy water is kindest to fine glass, with a soft cloth for drying. Avoid stacking tumblers or storing them upside down on wooden shelves, both of which can cause tiny stress fractures over time.

    For dinner parties, the Wine Culture range offers a full set of glasses calibrated to different varietals, while the Moya vases and carafes make sculptural centrepieces. The decanter collection covers everything from whisky to everyday wine.

    All gift sets arrive in LSA's branded packaging, designed to present well straight out of the bag. The pieces are cushioned for transit, and the boxes double as long-term storage if the glasses are only brought out for occasions.

      This International Women's Day, we're celebrating the talented female designers that have shaped and influenced the Heal's collection. We've always been passionate about championing women in design; our Spaces campaign in September last year brought together some of London's most pioneering women to celebrate the creative spaces in which they work, and we recently awarded Eleanor Pritchard our very first Heal's Award for Innovation. Meet some of the hardworking women behind some of our favourite pieces. Mia Sarosi Having worked with ceramics for over 15 years, Mia Sarosi is an established collaborator with Heal's Crafted exclusively in porcelain, Mia carefully hand throws and paints each individual piece for a unique finish. Her meticulous approach and eye for detail has won Mia international acclaim, and Heal's is proud to be an exclusive retailer of her beautiful work. Mia Sarosi Beatrice Larkin A young contributor to the world of textiles is contemporary designer Beatrice Larkin. Determined to make a creative impact, she established her label in 2013 upon graduating from the Royal College of Art, with a passion to create design-led textiles for the home. Using inspiration from geometry, Bea pairs linear pattern with soft fabrics to offer an organic, contemporary approach to clean modernist design. Beatrice Larkin Eleanor Pritchard Embracing the characteristics of mid-century design in her work, Eleanor Pritchard has an innovative flair which develops iconic styles for a contemporary audience. Her love of experimenting with colour, pattern and texture, delivers a modern twist to traditional fabric making, as she dares to mix neutral hues with playful pops of colour. Working alongside well-respected weavers in West Wales, Eleanor strives to create beautiful, high-quality fabrics that enhance the ambience of a room within the home. Eleanor was the recipient of the very first Heal’s Award for Innovation last year. Eleanor Pritchard Laurie Maun One of our most recent recruits is Laurie Maun, a contemporary textile designer based in Hackey. With an obsession for a true handmade process, Laurie focuses on the importance of traditional craft and workmanship within the UK. She has created an exclusive range of cushions and prints for us and decided to explore the use of digitally printed fabrics for her latest collection.

      To celebrate International Women’s Day 2020 we’re shining a spotlight on some of the female designers we’ve collaborated with recently. We’re passionate about championing women in everything we do and over the years we’ve collaborated with countless talented female designers. These designers helped to shape and influence the Heal’s collection you see before you now. Paola Navone We couldn’t celebrate International Women’s Day 2020 without mentioning one of the greats – Paola Navone. A central figure in the Italian post-modern movement, Navone began her career working alongside the likes of Alessandro Mendini, Ettore Sottsass Jr and Andrew Branzi. She has since collaborated with a plethora of iconic brands like Swarovski, Alessi, Knoll, Cappellini and Habitat. Navone’s iconic furniture combines the best of the past and present. An exemplary manifestation of this ethic is the elegant Hepburn Sofa collection she designed for Heal’s. Find out more Genevieve Bennett Born into a family of silk sellers, it comes as no surprise that fabric interested Genevieve Bennett from a young age. After completing her studies at Glasgow School of Art and the Royal College of Art Bennett transformed her passion for pattern, colour and technique into a career. Now based in London, Bennet has collaborated with the likes of Crate and Barrel, Wedgwood and Habitat. Each design she creates takes inspiration from decorative arts with a modern twist. For example, her Deco Knot collection for Heal’s was inspired by Samurai knots she saw on a trip to Japan. Find out more Lucy Kurrein Growing up in Leeds as the daughter of two creatives, it’s no wonder Lucy Kurrein has forged an impressive design career for herself. Having completed her degree in contemporary furniture design at Bucks University, Kurrein was scouted by Matthew Hilton. It is at his studio that she worked as an apprentice, kick-starting her professional design career. Kurrein later went on to work for PearsonLloyd designing commercially as part of retail and transport projects. It was only in 2013 that she founded her own studio in London’s docklands. Since then she has established herself as one of Britain’s leading designers. She has won numerous awards including the Design Guild Mark in 2019 for her Panel Chair and most recently ELLE Decoration's Young Design Talent Award 2020. Kurrein has collaborated with prestigious brands such as SCP, Molinari Living, Joined + Jointed, as well as Heal’s. Her exciting collaboration with Heal’s resulted in the pioneering Isola sofa collection. Find out more Lucia Fraser Painter and ceramicist Lucia Fraser is renowned for her abstract approach to art. Born in Birkenhead, Fraser graduated from University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne with a degree in fine art and is now based in London. Fraser draws inspiration from the natural world to create ceramics and paintings that are instantly recognisable as hers. Regularly journeying into abstraction, her gestural and expressive style transfer from canvas to ceramic in a fluid painterly style. Fraser will also star in our 2020 London Craft Week celebrations as our Artist in Residence. Find out more Niki Jones After having graduated from the Royal College of Art, textile designer Niki Jones began her career at Habitat. There she was mentored by the likes of Tom Dixon and Georgina Godley, an experience which laid the foundations for her eponymous collection. Each design she creates reflects her Scottish roots as well as techniques and crafts she has encountered on her travels. By combining these cultural references with her love for traditional techniques, natural materials and colour, Jones has made a truly distinctive textiles collection. Find out more

To celebrate International Women’s Day 2021, we’re shining a spotlight on a few of our favourite female designers and showcasing a selection of their brilliant designs. Handwoven storage basket by AAKS Handwoven Storage Basket A A K S is a Ghana-based design company that was founded by Akosua Afriyie-Kumi in 2014 to showcase her favourite weaving techniques and support the creation of the sustainable jobs in Africa. All of her baskets are hand-woven by artisans in small villages, using exactly the same methods and practices as their ancestors. Woven entirely from straw, this basket comes in a choice of three exuberant colours to make laundry fun again. It also comes with a complementing lid which adds effortless style to utility rooms. Isola sofa by Lucy Kurrein Isola 3 Seater Sofa Let us introduce you to the striking elegance of the Isola sofa, created by the incredible and award-winning designer, Lucy Kurrein. Inspired by floating islands, this highly contemporary collection is one of our most forward-thinking ranges and would be right at home in the modern design shows of Milan and Paris. Oudh geranium diffuser by Urban Apothecary Oudh Geranium Diffuser Transport yourself to the Middle East with the sweet and smoky Oudh Geranium diffuser by Urban Apothecary, founded by Tajinder Banwait. Majestic, mysterious, and magical, the Oudh Geranium diffuser plays with your senses and elevates your mood with this precious, ancient ingredient. One of the most highly valued ingredients in a perfumer’s palette, Oudh is a rare wood and appreciated for its smoky and aromatic profile. Sgraffito bed linen by Eleanor Pritchard Sgraffito Bed Linen Exclusive to Heal's, Eleanor Pritchard's iconic lines and contrasting textures are seen in the distinctive and unique Sgraffito linen. Made with a beautiful blend of cotton and linen in petrol blue the beautiful and complex Jacquard weave design is incorporated into the weave using a special loom, instead of being printed. Tra-ra clothes rail by Tomoko Azumi Tra-Ra Natural Beech Clothes Rail Lightweight and elegant, Tomoko Azumi’s Tra-Ra exploits the natural flexibility and strength of beech wood to create a stunning contemporary silhouette, While seemingly delicate in its balance of slender beech wood, this angular framed clothes rail has been beautifully crafted for durability to produce a versatile piece of open storage. Circuit natural dye cushions by Ceres Ceres Natural Dye Cushion Circuit Pattern London-based design studio Ceres designed the Circuit Natural Dye cushions exclusively for the Heal’s SS21 collection. Inspired by modern architecture, Circuit is a bold composition of shapes and pastels that brings the light and vibrancy of summer into the home. Hand-printed in Brixton using all-natural dyes, the colours are derived entirely from locally collected plants and bio-waste. Delightful and entrancing, the pastels look great alone of mixed with other cushions. Sky storm marbled dinner plate by Bisila Noha Sky Storm Marbled Dinner Plate Bisila Noha’s sea and storm dinnerware collection is hand thrown and hand finished in her studio in London. Her marbling technique gives both depth to the surface and personality to all of her pieces, while her distinctive brushstrokes mean that no two pieces are identical. This collection is perfect to serve food and drinks as well as pure decorative centre pieces. Woman collection by One Nine Eight Five Woman Throw The Woman collection by Eleanor Nadimi, founder of One Nine Eight Five, was introduced to help raise awareness about the pressures of growing up in a society that obsesses over unrealistic concepts of what is beautiful and what is not – in particular, the young women who are growing up under the often-distorted gaze of social media. The line drawing of the female form was made to celebrate the beauty found in every woman, with 15% of all profits being donated to the UK's eating disorder charity, Beat.
