LIND DNA

LIND DNA is a Danish brand producing recycled-leather placemats, coasters, and serveware from a small Skjern workshop, using a proprietary material that combines bonded leather fibres with recycled content. The collection runs across round and square placemats, leather coasters, glass mats and serving trays, all designed to last through years of daily use.

LIND DNA's Nupo recycled leather is a proprietary material combining bonded leather fibres with recycled synthetic content, producing a tactile leather-like surface that's easier to clean than genuine leather and more sustainable than virgin materials. The process was developed by LIND DNA in-house and is protected by design patents.

LIND DNA placemats handle hot plates up to around 80 to 90 degrees Celsius, covering most served-from-oven dishes but not direct contact with pans fresh off the hob. Use the coordinating LIND DNA trivets or pan mats for anything hotter, as sustained high heat can deform the leather structure permanently.

LIND DNA Nupo placemats wipe clean with a damp cloth, removing most food residues without difficulty. For deeper staining, a mild dishwashing soap applied to the surface and rinsed off restores the finish. Avoid submerging the placemats or putting them in a dishwasher, which compromises the bonded material over time.

LIND DNA is made in Skjern, Denmark, at a family-owned workshop that has produced leather goods since 1978. The Skjern location handles design, development and manufacturing in-house, keeping the full production chain within a few kilometres. The recycled leather material is developed and produced at the same facility.
