    Industrial wall lights suit kitchen splashbacks, stairwells and reading nooks, where their directional beam provides useful task light. They also work over bathroom mirrors in rooms rated for zone 2 or higher. Pair them with exposed brickwork, reclaimed timber or poured concrete for a cohesive workshop feel.

    General ambient wall lights sit around 160–170cm from the floor, aligning with eye level for the average user. Task-focused wall lights, such as above a bed or beside a desk, should be positioned roughly 60–80cm above the work surface. Bathroom wall lights follow specific electrical zone rules.

    Filament-style LED bulbs with exposed coils work best in industrial wall lights, mimicking the original Edison designs while running cool. Choose warm-white (2,700K) for ambience in living rooms, or a slightly cooler 3,000K for kitchens and task corners. Avoid cool white, which can feel clinical.
