    The design pedigree, first – every Flos piece is drawn by a named designer with substantial industry credentials, and the company invests heavily in lighting engineering rather than just form. The Foglio (Tobia Scarpa, 1966) and the IC W (Michael Anastassiades) are the kind of pieces that stay in production for decades.

    Selected designs carry the appropriate IP rating for bathroom use – check each product page for the specific zone classification. The Flos bathroom range is comparatively narrow because the brand prioritises design integrity over IP-coverage, but the pieces that do qualify are typically the strongest pieces in the bathroom-lighting market.

    Most Flos wall lights are designed for ambient rather than task output, and the integrated LED versions are dimmable. For a bedroom application, dim to 30-40% for evening reading and 10-15% for ambient; the warm-white colour temperature suits late-evening use without disrupting sleep.

    Modern Flos pieces use integrated LED light engines tuned for warm output and 50,000+ hours of life. Energy costs are substantially lower than equivalent halogen fittings, and the LEDs are typically built into the lamp rather than user-replaceable, which simplifies the design but means the whole fitting reaches end-of-life together.
