Dining Room Furniture

Dining room furniture needs to handle daily meals as comfortably as longer gatherings, so build quality matters across tables, chairs, sideboards and dressers. Our dining furniture range covers solid oak, walnut and ash construction with proper joinery, alongside upholstered dining chairs built for genuine hours of use. Each piece is chosen for how it ages, not just how it launches.

Seat allocation depends on the table length: a 160cm table seats four comfortably or six at a squeeze; 200cm seats six; 240cm and above seat eight or more. Allow roughly 60cm of table width per diner plus space for shared dishes in the middle. Extendable tables offer flexibility for occasional larger meals.

Matching chair-and-table sets read as showroom; mixing related but distinct chairs with the table usually looks more considered. Keeping one element consistent (timber tone, seat height or silhouette family) maintains coherence. Many of our dining ranges offer complementary but non-matched chair options.

European oak is the most widely chosen timber for dining tables, balancing durability with a warm, mid-tone appearance. Walnut reads more formal and ages to a deeper brown; ash is a lighter, more contemporary option. All three handle daily use well with proper care.

Regular dusting with a soft cloth prevents grit scratching the surface, and immediate blotting of spills avoids stains. Annual oiling with a food-safe finishing oil refreshes the timber's surface. Use coasters and table runners for protection during extended meals with hot dishes.
