Bar pendant lights sit above a kitchen island or breakfast bar, casting focused task light onto the work surface below while adding a strong visual anchor to open-plan rooms.     A breakfast bar under 1.5m typically suits two pendants; islands between 2 and 3m look balanced with three. Space the pendants evenly along the length, leaving roughly 75 to 90cm between each and at least 30cm from the counter edge. Cluster groupings are an alternative to evenly spaced singles.

    Hang bar pendants so the bottom of the shade sits 75 to 85cm above the counter surface, low enough to define the zone but high enough not to block sightlines. Taller diners and higher counter heights may need slight adjustment. The pendant cable is adjustable on most models at installation.

    Pendants over a bar can either match the wider kitchen fixtures for a coordinated look or contrast deliberately to mark the bar as its own zone. Matching the metal finish while varying the silhouette usually works well. Radically different styles above the same counter can feel disconnected.
