Asko Rugs

Asko rugs combine considered Scandinavian design with traditional hand-knotting techniques – natural wool and viscose blends in muted, layered palettes that suit modern homes. The collection covers contemporary patterns and quiet plains, in sizes from compact runners through to generous main-room rugs.

Considered Scandinavian design language, natural-fibre construction (wool and viscose blends), hand-knotted execution and muted, layered palettes. The pieces sit in the upper-mid range of the contemporary rug market and suit homes leaning Scandi or considered-modern in their broader styling.

The wool-rich blends handle moderate traffic well and are suitable for living rooms and bedrooms. For very high-traffic hallways and dining rooms, look for the tightest-knotted Asko constructions or supplement with appropriate underlay. Viscose-rich blends are softer underfoot but show traffic patterns more visibly than pure wool.

Vacuum weekly on a low setting (no rotating brushes for hand-knotted pieces). Rotate 180 degrees every six months to even out wear patterns. Spot-clean spills with cold water and a clean cloth; avoid steam cleaning, which can shrink the fibres. Professional cleaning every 7-10 years extends the working life by decades.

Most Asko designs are available in custom sizes through the Heal's interior design team, with extended lead times (typically 12-16 weeks vs 4-6 weeks for stocked sizes). The custom programme accommodates non-rectangular shapes (round, runner, irregular) for spaces that don't fit standard dimensions.
