As the teak is untreated the surface will change colour over time and eventually turn into a beautiful silvery grey. However, if you wish to preserve or intensify the original colour, use suitable furniture oil on a regular basis. Either way the wood will be resistant to everyday wind and weather thanks to the high content of natural oils.
If you choose to treat the furniture with furniture oil clean the furniture regularly using soapy water and a wrung cloth. Wipe with a dry cloth. If you choose not to treat the furniture you only need to clean the furniture once a year using soapy water and a wrung cloth. Always remember to wipe with a dry cloth as water might damage the wood. As the pores of the wood may rise after the first couple of cleanings it is advisable to use sandpaper grit 120 after the first couple of cleanings.
