Inspired by the Milan metro’s iconic handrails, the Metro collection transforms architectural forms into playful, characterful lighting for contemporary interiors.

The Metro collection by Piovenefabi for valerie_objects takes its inspiration from the iconic handrails of the Milan metro. First presented as a floor lamp at the 2017 Chicago Architecture Biennial, the design has evolved into a playful collection of lighting. Originally created in the metro’s distinctive red, the floor lamp is now available in additional colours referencing the transport network. Piovenefabi has also deconstructed the original design into its essential geometric forms, reassembling them to create three characterful table lamps and a coordinating wall light.
