Compact Japanese garden snips with slender blades for flowers, fruit, vegetables and those small pruning jobs that appear as you wander.

A good pair of snips should be close at hand for those unplanned moments in the garden, and Niwaki’s Garden Snips are designed to do exactly that. Particularly good for flowers, fruit and vegetables, their slender blades reach neatly into plants for careful snipping, light pruning and deadheading. Bright red handles make them easier to spot when inevitably left among the foliage, while the blades are made in a long-established family-run factory in Sanjo, Japan. Designed for green growth only rather than woody pruning.

  • Slender blades for careful snipping, deadheading and light pruning.

  • Remove leaf resin, rust and gunk with a Clean Mate and water.
  • Dry, wipe over with Camellia oil and store in a dry place Correct Use: Japanese steel is hard and sharp, and can be more brittle than some people are used to - it will chip if abused.
  • Do not cut wire, metal, stone, plastic or any other hard material (even bamboo fibres and some very hard woods, especially knots and burrs, can damage steel edges).
  • Do not twist or apply uneven pressure.
  • Use the base of the blades, not the tips, for heavier cuts.
