An original Marcel Breur design, the Cesca side chair fuses traditional craftsmanship with industrial methods and materials to create an iconic design.

Designed in 1928, Marcel Breur's simple yet outstanding Cesca side chair has a rare simplicity in its design. Marrying traditional craftsmanship with industrial methods and materials, this innovative chair is revolutionary of its time. The chair's subtle curves, wicker caning and cantilevered tubular steel base offer long-lasting comfort and flexibility. The iconic contemporary piece, one of radical design thinking, is finished with woven cane inserts and a strong beech frame.

The Knoll Studio logo and signature of Marcel Breuer are stamped into the base of the chair.
Hardwood beech seat, back frames and arms with a natural clear lacquer or matte ebonised finish.
The chairs cantilevered design provides added flexibility and comfort.
