Tom Dixon Home applies the brand's signature material confidence to everyday objects – decorative bowls, scented candles, vases, mirrors and the small sculptural pieces that bring design into every corner of a room. The collection at Heal's covers the Tank, Cog, Press and Plum ranges, with Italian and British production behind the design.

    The range covers candles and home fragrance (Eclectic, Materialism), drinkware (Tank tumblers and decanters in hand-blown glass), decorative ceramics (Cog mugs, Plum dishes), mirrors, and small sculptural pieces. The unifying thread is material – everything is chosen because the material does interesting work in the form.

    The Eclectic and Materialism ranges sit at the upper end of the home-fragrance market, with hand-poured wax in heavyweight ceramic, glass or metal vessels. The candles burn cleanly with proper scent throw across a medium room, and the vessels become collected objects after the wax is gone. Worth it if you value the vessel as much as the scent.

    Hand-blown glass pieces from the Tank range should be hand-washed to preserve the finish. Metallic-finish pieces (gold, copper) are always hand-wash to prevent the finish dulling. Ceramics in the Cog range are typically dishwasher-safe on a normal cycle. Each piece comes with care guidance specific to the production technique.

    On surfaces where they can be seen and used – sideboards, mantels, drinks trays, dining tables. The pieces are designed as objects rather than decoration, so they work best when they're in active rotation. A Tank decanter on a drinks tray gets used every weekend; the same decanter on a high shelf gathers dust.

Hosted by Becky Sunshine of The Pool, the evening will provide a unique insight into the inspirations and processes behind his most iconic projects plus new collections. A self-taught craftsman, Tom Dixon has risen to become one of the world’s most celebrated furniture, lighting and interior designers. His unexpected combination of industrial forms and opulent metallic finishes have long been a hit at Heal’s, and we can’t wait to welcome him back to our Tottenham Court Road store.

      On Wednesday we welcomed Tom Dixon back to our flagship store for the latest in our Meet the Designer series of events. Held within the beautiful setting of our fabrics department, the packed audience were treated to a personal insight into the designer’s life and work with Becky Sunshine of The Pool acting as host throughout the evening. Matching the relaxed atmosphere with artisan drinks, G-Vine Gin and Fever Tree were also on hand to keep the uber-hip crowd refreshed. After all, what better way to enjoy an evening of design than with a finely crafted gin and tonic?       The master of materialism, Tom Dixon returns with a stunning new collection exclusive to Heal’s. Inspired by the effect of petrol spills on a rainy day, Warp is a collection of distorted vessels each finished in an iridescent glaze. Mouth blown glass is squashed and deformed to create the unusual profile of each piece before then being hand painted to create the unique lustres.
