Reed Diffusers

Reed diffusers give a home continuous, low-key fragrance without the lit-candle requirement, scenting hallways, bedrooms and bathrooms for up to three months on a single bottle. Our collection brings together British and European makers whose fragrance oils are blended with natural bases, so the scent stays true from first reed flip to last drop.

A 200ml diffuser typically scents a medium-sized room for two to three months, with 100ml travel-sized versions lasting six to eight weeks. Warmer rooms with central heating running accelerate evaporation and shorten the lifespan, while cooler halls and bedrooms often stretch a diffuser to four months or more.

Flipping the reeds every three to five days refreshes the scent throw and keeps the fragrance from fading back on the unscented end. Use a tissue or wear a disposable glove when flipping to avoid oil residue on your hands, and replace the reeds entirely if the fragrance starts to dull before the oil is used up.

Diffusers excel in rooms where an open flame isn't practical: hallways where guests pass, bathrooms with their constant humidity, bedrooms where a sleeping household rules out lit candles. Dining rooms also benefit from diffusers with neutral notes, where the fragrance carries the welcome without fighting the food aromatics.

Diffusers eliminate the open-flame risk of candles, making them the preferred choice for rooms with children, pets or textiles within reach of a flame. The only caution is the oil itself, which should be kept away from pets and wiped up promptly if spilled to avoid staining wooden surfaces or leather.
