Rezas

Rezas brings hand-knotted antique and vintage rugs from Persia, Turkey and Central Asia to Heal's, with each piece sourced individually through long-established supply networks and restored by hand in a London workshop. The collection shifts constantly as pieces sell, with no two rugs ever exactly alike across the range.

Rezas sources antique and vintage rugs directly from Iran, Turkey, Afghanistan and the wider Central Asian region, working with trusted intermediary networks that have operated for generations. Each rug is individually identified by region, age and weave before being restored in the London workshop and photographed for the collection.

Most Rezas pieces are either antique (100+ years old) or vintage (30 to 100 years), with each rug's age and provenance documented on the product page. A smaller contemporary collection is clearly labelled separately. The authentication process includes dye analysis, knot count verification and regional weave identification.

The London workshop handles restoration by hand, including re-knotting worn areas with matched wool, re-binding damaged edges, and gentle cleaning using techniques appropriate to the rug's age. Restoration preserves the rug's character rather than disguising its history, so honest signs of age often remain visible as part of the piece's story.

Antique and vintage rugs come in a wide range of sizes, though the original weaving dimensions mean standard 'rug shop' sizes rarely apply. Expect irregular proportions (for example 192 by 276cm rather than a standard 200 by 280cm), which is part of the character of hand-knotted work. The product page lists exact dimensions for each piece.
