Large Sideboards

A large sideboard anchors a living or dining room with generous storage behind a single considered face, from solid-timber Shaker-influenced designs to lacquered contemporary pieces with hidden handles. Our large sideboard range sits at 180cm and above, with interior fittings including adjustable shelves, cutlery-style drawers and vertical divisions. Each piece is engineered to serve for decades.

Large sideboards typically measure 180cm and above, with extra-large formats extending to 240 or 280cm for larger rooms and open-plan spaces. Depth ranges from 40 to 50cm, and standard height sits between 75 and 90cm. Measure the intended wall carefully, accounting for doors and adjacent furniture.

Large sideboards suit dining rooms (as storage for glassware, linen and serving pieces), living rooms (as media units or display pieces) and hallways (as entry storage with a display surface above). The top surface typically hosts a combination of lamps, ceramics and picture frames. Scale the surface styling to the piece.

Solid oak, walnut and ash sideboards age beautifully and handle daily use without visible wear. Lacquered finishes offer a crisp, graphic look but show scratches more readily. Fluted glass, metal mesh and hand-finished veneers feature across the more contemporary designs in our range.

Standard large sideboards at 75 to 85cm height sit slightly above optimal TV-viewing level when seated on a low sofa, so purpose-designed media units may suit TV primary use better. A sideboard can comfortably house a TV for occasional viewing or in a more formal room. Cable management is worth planning upfront.
