Modern storage Arik Levy designed this modern interpretation of a toolbox for Vitra in 2010. Vitra accessories for the kids The iconic Eames Elephant almost didn’t make it to our homes. It was an early creation that stemmed from Charles and Ray Eames’ experiments with plywood. In fact, an original prototype designed for a 14-year-old Lucia Eames remains in the possession of the Eames family today. Unfortunately, due to its tight curves and shape, it was too technically challenging to enter serial production. It wasn’t until 2007 that Vitra was able to bring it to life using modern technology.
