Dinnerware sets do most of the visual work on a dinner table – the right one elevates everyday meals and lifts dinner parties without trying. Our luxury collection covers contemporary and classic patterns in porcelain, stoneware and bone china, sold as four- and six-place settings or built up piece by piece.

A set guarantees consistent dimensions and finish across plates, bowls and side plates – worth it for households that entertain or have limited cupboard space. Building up piece by piece works better if you already own dinnerware you like and want to layer in additional elements over time. Both approaches are valid; the choice usually comes down to budget pace.

Porcelain is the workhorse: durable, dishwasher-safe and resistant to chipping. Stoneware reads heavier and warmer, with more visible texture in the glaze. Bone china is the most refined and the strongest of the three for its weight, but is also the most expensive. For daily family use, porcelain is the right answer for most households.

Four for a small household; six is the safer minimum for entertaining; eight to twelve if you regularly host. Always order at least one extra place setting – breakages happen, and matching a discontinued pattern years later is the most common dinnerware regret.

Most contemporary porcelain and stoneware is dishwasher-safe and oven-safe to 200-220 degrees. Pieces with metallic detailing (gold rims, platinum bands) are typically hand-wash only, since dishwashers strip the metal over time. Bone china should always be hand-washed unless explicitly stated otherwise.
