Bespoke Dining

A bespoke dining table turns a general-purpose room into a space shaped around how you actually use it, built to exact dimensions in the timber, finish and edge profile of your choice. Heal's bespoke dining service produces solid oak, walnut and ash tables in lengths, widths and shapes tailored to each customer. Every table is built by UK workshops to lasting heritage standards.

The service starts with a conversation about dimensions, timber choice, edge profile and leg style, often supported by drawings or a showroom visit. Once the specification is agreed, the table is built to order in a UK workshop, typically taking 8 to 12 weeks. Delivery includes installation in the intended room.

Bespoke tables can be built at any length between roughly 120 and 320cm, with widths from 80 to 110cm depending on the shape. Round and oval formats are available alongside the standard rectangle. The scale needs to suit the room, allowing 75 to 90cm clearance for chairs on all used sides.

European oak remains the standard bespoke timber for its balance of appearance, durability and price, with walnut, ash and cherry available as alternatives. Book-matched tops (where adjacent boards mirror their grain) and live-edge slabs are available on selected designs. Each timber ages differently over years.

Timber and finish samples can be sent ahead of ordering so you can match the final choice to your existing furniture and flooring. Photograph the samples in the intended room's lighting before deciding. The showroom's dining display also lets you see finished tables in similar timbers.
