Bedding

Our luxury bedding collection is built around the fibres that sleep best: long-staple Egyptian cotton, French linen and pure mulberry silk, woven and finished by specialist British and European mills. Each set is chosen for how it softens across seasons, breathes through warm summer nights, and holds warmth without weight in winter.

Thread count matters less than fibre quality: a 200 thread count in long-staple Egyptian cotton will outperform a 600 count in short-fibre cotton on both softness and longevity. For a reliable guide, look for 300 to 500 count in percale for a crisp hand or sateen for a smoother, more lustrous finish.

Percale weaves feel crisp and cool, and suit warmer sleepers or summer months. Sateen is smoother and more lustrous, holding warmth slightly better and draping more softly. Linen breathes best of all, softens over hundreds of washes, and suits those who like a more rustic, textured aesthetic year-round.

Weekly is the ideal rhythm, with a fortnightly change acceptable if you shower before bed and the room runs cool. In summer or during illness, a more frequent change, every three to four days, keeps the bed fresh and helps with sleep quality on warm nights.

Wash at 40 degrees with a non-biological detergent, avoid fabric softener, and line-dry where possible so the fibres relax fully. Tumble drying on low with dryer balls shortens drying time without over-heating the cotton, and ironing while slightly damp gives the crispest finish on percale sheets.
