Luxury Headboards

Our luxury headboards pair upholstered depth and architectural timber in a range of heights, from low-slung modern bands to full-height winged panels. Each build uses hardwood frames, UK upholstery and weighty fabrics that hold their shape for years, giving the bed the finishing line it deserves, not just a backdrop.

Lower headboards of 90 to 110cm feel unobtrusive in rooms with low ceilings or detailed wall treatments, keeping the bed from dominating the composition. Taller headboards of 130 to 150cm add drama and enclose the pillow zone, working especially well in period rooms with high ceilings where a statement is part of the brief.

Matching headboards and frames give a cohesive, furniture-shop look, but contrasting the two lets the headboard stand as its own design statement. A dark upholstered headboard paired with a pale timber frame, for example, divides the bed into two reads and gives the room more visual layers.

Solid wood and metal headboards outlast upholstery over decades, provided joints are glued and bolted rather than stapled. Upholstery performs well for 10 to 15 years before the fabric needs refreshing, and a reupholstery service every decade or so is a realistic maintenance rhythm rather than a drawback.

Wall-mounted headboards attach independently and work with any frame beneath, while strutted headboards require compatible frames with matching fixing points. Before ordering, check the strut height, centre spacing and frame type against the headboard spec, especially when pairing with a divan base.
