Velvet Corner Sofas

A velvet corner sofa turns a living room into a lounging room, deep enough to sprawl, wide enough for the whole family. The collection covers U-shape, L-shape and chaise-ended corners in performance velvets that resist crushing, with hand-tufted frames and solid-hardwood seating decks built for long evenings rather than occasional use.

Allow at least 30cm of clearance on all exposed sides so the sofa reads as anchored rather than crammed, and check door and stairwell dimensions before ordering, velvet corners are rarely modular enough to squeeze through narrow entries. Most work best in rooms of 4 metres square or more.

Performance velvets, most now polyester-based, resist spills, crushing and fading in ways traditional cotton velvet does not. A corner sofa in performance velvet will typically outlast a linen or cotton equivalent in a family home, provided the pile is brushed occasionally.

Deep emerald, petrol, navy, forest and terracotta all hide marks well and age beautifully; paler neutrals show more, but a performance velvet copes even there. Darker velvets work hardest in north-facing rooms; paler tones suit rooms with strong natural light.

Some corner sofas are fully re-coverable, others have fixed upholstery, the specification is listed on every product page. If long-term serviceability matters, a fully re-coverable frame is worth specifying; most velvet corners can be reupholstered by the factory if not.
