Ligne Roset Sofas

Ligne Roset sofas include some of the most distinctive silhouettes in contemporary design – the Togo (1973), the Ploum (Bouroullec brothers, 2011), the Pumpkin and the Multy. The collection at Heal's covers the full upholstery palette and configuration options, with bespoke fabric ordering for clients matching specific schemes.

Michel Ducaroy designed the Togo in 1973 as a single piece of articulated foam with a removable cover – no internal frame, no springs, no legs. The result is a sofa that reads as a piece of soft sculpture, sat directly on the floor. Over fifty years later it remains in continuous production, and is still made in the original Eastern France facility.

It is, with adjustments. The low height (sitting position is closer to floor than standard sofa) takes a few sittings to adjust to. Once you do, the foam articulation supports the spine well and the lack of internal frame means no pressure points. It's not the right answer for elderly users (the floor-level seat is hard to get out of), but suits most other households.

Stocked fabrics typically deliver in 12-16 weeks; bespoke fabrics in 18-22 weeks. Each piece is built to order at the French facility, which is part of why the lead time is longer than for showroom-stock sofas. The order team confirms the build slot at point of order.

Yes – every Togo is built with a removable, replaceable cover, which is part of why the sofa survives decades of use. New covers in current and archive fabrics can be ordered through Ligne Roset and fitted at home. This makes the Togo unusually upgradeable for an upholstered piece.
