The story behind this product

Classic sofa silhouettes inspired Matthew Hilton to design the formal Oscar 2-Seater Sofa for SCP. Retaining its classic charm with a touch of modernity, Oscar features button cushioning as well as expertly turned decorative wooden legs. The sofa’s pared-back silhouette with long straight lines and natural curves lends it a contemporary edge. Slightly taller and slimmer than the informal version, this sofa is perfect for more formal living spaces.

Matthew Hilton

Matthew Hilton

Designing for leading furniture makers such as Case, De La Espada and SCP, many of Hilton's designs are considered icons with pieces such as his Balzac Chair held in the permanent collection of the Victoria & Albert Museum.

Working in premium materials such as solid wood, cast iron, and brass, in 2007 Hilton launched his eponymous brand as a place where he could have complete creative control.
