Noguchi Coffee Table Black Ash

- Product Story
Gracefully sculpted, the Noguchi coffee table is truly a work of art
Working as both a sculptor and industrial designer, Noguchi brought both disciplines to this design, creating a functional piece of furniture that still has an artistic quality to its combination of materials.
Deceptive in its form, the base is actually formed from two identically carved pieces of solid wood, the symmetry creating an open yet supportive frame.
To ensure this beautiful design is not obscured, a thick pane of glass provides the top - its curved organic shape in keeping with the overall feel of the table.

Born 1904 in California, Isamu Noguchi was one of the 20th century's most influential designers. From his designs for the home to landscape architecture, Noguchi is renowned for his simple, sculptural style, inspired by his Japanese ancestry and merged with the pioneering mid-century modern movement that was emerging in America at the time.View Designer
