Festivo Candlestick

Timo sarpaneva (1926-2006) was the star designer of Finnish glassworks Iittala from the early 1950s well into the 1980s, together with Tapio Wirkkala. Sarpaneva studied at the Finnish institute for industrial Arts, won numerous awards at the Milan Triennale during the 1950s, and was awarded the Pro Finlandia Medal of the order of the Lion of Finland by the Finnish president. The Festivo is typical of the 1960s iittala melting ice designs.
Heal’s 100, is a curated exhibition showing the 100 best items sold at Heal’s in the last 100 years. The selection of products is not only based on what the company sells today, but also pieces from Heal’s archive, now held by the V&A museum.
